HD-J865 AS Toughening Agent
HD-J865 AS Toughening Agent Application and Material Compatibility: Primarily used for transparent AS (SAN) plastic resins and ASA resin materials, this toughening agent is also compatible with recycled AS materials and runner stock. Its core application lies in enhancing the impact resistance of AS/SAN plastics while maintaining their transparency. It enables the production of ultra-tough AS products that can effectively replace transparent ABS materials, making it ideal for applications requiring high-gloss, ultra-tough, or even color-free, spray-free AS parts.

HD-J865 AS Toughening Agent
Application
Applicable materials: Primarily used for transparent AS (SAN) plastic raw materials and ASA resin, but also compatible with AS recycled material and runner material.
Core application: Toughening and modifying AS/SAN plastics to enhance impact resistance; enabling the production of ultra-tough AS products as a substitute for transparent ABS; perfectly suited for meeting the modification needs of high-gloss, ultra-tough, and color-free AS materials that eliminate the need for painting.
Processing techniques: Compatible with injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, pelletizing, and other processes, enabling the production of AS transparent containers, sheets, components, and various other products.
Performance
Enhanced Toughness, Enhanced Efficiency: A conventional addition of just 2-4% can boost the impact strength of AS plastic by 30%-40%, while simultaneously improving its flowability, softness, toughness, and crack resistance—effectively addressing the common issues of brittleness and easy breakage in AS products. When used as a replacement for transparent ABS, adding 25%-40% delivers an exceptionally tough and durable result.
Transparent Preservation: The product is a transparent granule, free from impurities and sediment, ensuring no impact on the original transparency or color of AS products—fully compatible with the requirements of clear AS applications.
Performance compatibility: Optimized solely for toughness-related metrics, with virtually no impact on other physical properties of AS plastic, such as hardness and heat resistance.
Cost advantage: Requires minimal usage (only 20–40 grams of raw material are needed per 1 kg), resulting in low modification costs; when replacing transparent ABS, it can further reduce raw material expenses.
Other features
Highly compatible: It blends well with AS raw materials, recycled materials, and runner materials—no compatibility issues arise.
User-friendly operation: No complex pre-processing required—simply follow a straightforward mixing process that can be directly integrated into your existing AS processing line.
Environmental Compliance: Classified as a polymer compound, it meets food-grade standards as well as international environmental regulations such as RoHS, REACH, PhAs, and EN 71-9, making it widely applicable.
Auxiliary optimization: Indirectly enhances the uniformity of AS product coloring while reducing the use of dispersants (an implicit feature, derived from common characteristics observed in similar products).

Usage and Dosage
1. Dosage
Conventional toughening: 2–4% (i.e., add 20–40 grams of toughening agent per 1 kg of AS raw material; a recommended dosage of 4% is advised to ensure consistent performance).
Ultra-tough ABS alternative: 25%–40% (adjusted based on target toughness requirements).
2. Instructions for Use
Mixing: Combine the HD-J865 toughening agent with AS raw material, recycled material, and runner material, and stir for 15–20 minutes until thoroughly homogeneous (some sources suggest that stirring for 5–8 minutes may achieve the desired uniformity—refer to the actual mixing results for accuracy).
Reaction: After mixing thoroughly, transfer the mixture into a material bag or store it in the mixing bucket. Let it sit for 45–60 minutes to allow the materials to undergo full chemical reaction. (If clumps form, simply break them apart using a hard object or dissolve them by blending with a mixer.)
Processing: After heating the baking material, proceed with extrusion, injection molding, or blow molding according to standard procedures;
Testing: The toughness (impact resistance) of the finished product can be assessed 24 hours after molding to verify whether it meets the required standards.
Packaging
Packaged in moisture- and contamination-resistant bags, each bag has a net weight of 25KG. The packaging material is specifically designed for storing granular materials, ensuring protection against moisture and contamination during transportation and storage.
Storage Method and Best-Before Date
Storage instructions: Store in a well-ventilated, cool environment, and strictly avoid direct sunlight (sun protection), humid conditions (moisture prevention), as well as external contamination.
Shelf life (when unopened): 2 years. Once opened, it is recommended to use the product as soon as possible to prevent long-term exposure, which may affect its performance.
